I have spent the past two years actively participating as a member of the university's Social Work Students Society. This position has provided me with the opportunity to help bring awareness to the concerns of social work students and assist in efforts to raise funds for Saskatchewan-based organizations. This experience has been extremely rewarding and I would now like to extend my role to the URSU team. By continuing my participation in the SWSS and acting as a representative for URSU, I hope to expand the advocacy efforts initiated by social work students to include a larger student base. This position would allow me to speak on behalf of, rather than for, social work students. I do not approach this role with my own agenda, but rather with the hope of bringing awareness to the issues that matter to you, the students whom I would be representing.
