This school year has been exhilarating, nerve-racking, and one of the best of my life. I came out to my family as bisexual at the end of 2010. My family was extremely supportive and it helped me to become who I am today.
This year, I have the drive and ambition to run for LGBTI Director. I want to be able to express and provide comfort and acceptance for those individuals who are homosexual or questioning. With more parties, events, and fundraisers, I want the University of Regina to be a place where homosexual and questioning students are accepted into an environment that promotes fun and comfort.
Some of my plans for the LGBTI community help create and implement events to increase awareness of UR Pride. I will to stress the acceptance and integration of all students into UR Pride. UR Pride and the LGBTI community are not just for homosexual individuals - I would encourage students of all genders and sexualities to help out and become aware so that the straight and LGBTI communities can be brought together and embody the true U of R spirit.
